A cold journey

It's a new exciting day.
The evening before, you planned your journey to Kymia.
Even if she's living pretty far away, using the portals you'll be there in only a few hours.

You go deeper and soon the cave leads where it would connect to the other cave.

This time it doesn't get sandy, even wher you reach the exit after a few meters.
This time you're not in the middle of the desert, but in some atrificial room made of sandstone.
It's a circular room with multiple entries.
Kymia told you it's a portal hub. You must be below the sand dune you came out of a few days before.

The room is illuminated by the light coming in from the different entries.
But now it feels very cold.

Kymia said, the left portal will lead to a small subspace.
So you go in there.

It's another small room, but everything looks a little weird.
There are no straight lines anymore.
Even your own limbs are curved a little.
And it's getting even colder.

But it's not too distorted. You know where to go. Once right, then forward, and then right again. And then you're there.
You leave the tunnel and everything is full of snow now.
It's a little windy, and it's snowing.

The rooftops are full of snow, and colorful lights are decorating the buildings.

So without thinking about it, you just start running. If you stood around any longer your bare feet would freeze.

Even if she's probably not closer to the village than the portal, her place should be visible from afar and maybe she'll notice you and help you.

So you at least go to the end of the main street of the village to look if you see her home.

You immediately run through the snow.
And it feels like the snow is melting away below your feet.
You really have to watch out not to slip.

You run and run, you're almost there!

Soon you reach the building and knock as fast as you can.
The door isn't closed, so you just get in yourself.

Now you're standing in the entry of a small house.
The melting snow is dropping down from your body.

And a girl is moving towards you.

Kymia just sits down next to you and looks at you.

You just keep sitting there, looking at the fire, trying to get warm.

She really just smiles at you, saying nothing.
So after a while, when you are feeling more comfortable again, you have to break the silence.
